2019 was the first full year for the Avenir Centre and it welcomed a variety of shows.
Mayor Dawn Arnold says it hosted eight Cirque du Soleil shows and welcomed some of the best entertainers in the world.
She adds there have been raving reviews about the facility following the TSN broadcast of the Rivalry series.
“I’m not alluding to anything in particular, but I think we will see more national and international events,” Arnold says.
The concerns about a lack of parking seem to lessened, according to Arnold, and people are finding their way to the centre either by bus or on foot.
She is also looking forward to number of shows that have already been announced for 2020.
“I am pretty excited about Michael Buble personally and Bonnie Raitt. Those are going to be pretty exciting events,”
Arnold says the Centre has proven itself as a facility, including being nominated for an award for best venue.
She says this could mean more acts will take notice and consider making a stop in Moncton.
