Skin testing for Tuberculosis will be done in January for some students at Bernice MacNaughton High School.
This comes after a diagnosed case last month.
In a letter to parents this week, Public Health Officials say they have identified a group of individuals who would have had the most contact with the case.
They will be notified and scheduled for testing. Public Health nurses will be at the school to conduct the testing.
Students who suffer from specific medical conditions including cancer, organ transplant, and diabetes, are requested to reach out to a public health nurse.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Yves Leger believes the risk is still very low.
Once the first round of testing is done, the letter states they will look at whether the investigation needs to be extended to other individuals at the school.
Dr. Leger says once the first round of testing is completed, they will then reveal their findings and next steps going forward.
