Ambulance New Brunswick paramedics have a new place to call home.
The 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in north Moncton can accommodate eight ambulances at 254 Gorge Road.
The building features a lounge, locker room, showers, laundry facilities and a large stock room which will supply the region.
Ambulance NB regional manager Craig Pierre says the new base is in a strategic location for calls.
“With all the little side roads like Mapleton and Gorge Road on the other end… as well as the (Trans Canada) highway… gives us great access to different parts of the city and the Greater Moncton area,” he notes.
Pierre says paramedics are overjoyed by the warm, comfortable place they can call their own.
He adds the new facility also houses the regional Ambulance NB office for eastern New Brunswick.
A smaller building on Edmonton Avenue which had been used as a base for paramedics will be retained as a post.
