Visions United Church has partnered with the John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick on the proposed affordable housing complex called the “Community Hub”.
Visions was formed in 2011 when two congregations came together.
Reverend Shawn Redden says the new church sought to create a different kind of faith community which even included worshipping in a movie theatre.
“But that probably wasn’t really true to the sense of outreach and community engagement that they really wanted. So I think for them it’s really finally coming to a place where they can live their values and service to the community,” she notes.
As a founding partner with the John Howard Society, Redden says Visions will take the lead in developing the neighbourhood components of the “Community Hub”.
Another public information session on the project will be held on November 25 at the Father Patrice LeBlanc Centre on Murphy Avenue starting at 6:30pm.
