The Liberal MP for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe says collaboration will be important during her second term in office given the minority government.
Ginette Petitpas Taylor believes one of her strengths is working with members of all political stripes and she thinks her constituents would expect that.
During the campaign, Petitpas Taylor says she heard a lot of concerns from seniors.
“Seniors were indicating to me that they really want to stay home for as long as possible. They certainly want to make sure that they get the help and support they need to do that. I’ve had a lot of people speaking with me about pharmacare as well.”
She says climate change and the environment was also a common concern among constituents.
With a surge in support for the Green Party, Petitpas Taylor expects climate change will be a major focus going forward.
She notes how various green infrastructure investments have already made in this riding including upgrades to the sewage treatment plant and more buses for Codiac Transpo.
But she adds much more needs to be done.
