The community will come together for the first-ever Multiple Myeloma March in Moncton on Saturday (September 21).
The event is being organized by city councillor Shawn Crossman who was diagnosed with the disease and is now in remission.
He wanted to raise awareness about this lesser known form of cancer.
“I felt here’s an opportunity for us to get out and involve a different form of cancer, multiple myeloma, and to have this as open and transparent as we could,” he notes.
Crossman says the amount of community support has been amazing.
He adds about $15,000 has been raised so far surpassing his goal of $10,000.
The Multiple Myeloma March will be held at the Crossman Centre-Kay Arena on Saturday (September 21) starting at 1pm.
