The Old Farmer’s Almanac is calling the upcoming winter a “Game of Snows” for much of Canada including New Brunswick.
Managing editor Jack Burnett says it may be a bit milder with lots of precipitation especially snow.
He feels confident we will see at least three major snow events – and he even pinpoints the dates.
“One of them on December 9th, the next one on New Year’s Day… so you can shovel off your hangover. Finally one on January 31st.”
Burnett expects the first snowfall could arrive in mid-November and believes that mid-December, mid-January and early February will be the coldest parts of winter.
For extended weather predictions, he adds the Almanac uses short and long term weather trends along with solar science such as sun spots and solar radiation.
He claims the Old Farmer’s Almanac has an 80 percent accuracy rate.
