The federal government has been making a series of funding announcements almost daily over the last few weeks.
With an election in October, a Mount Allison University political science professor says this comes as no surprise.
Mario Levesque says these types of announcements are typically ones that should have been made months ago.
Levesque says these announcements can be a good thing or a bad thing.
“It can’t hurt, but I don’t think it will help that much…. I mean if at all. Let’s face it, it’s the middle of summer and people typically don’t pay attention to politics.”
So Levesque says voters may not be paying attention to these funding announcements.
But he adds that inattention may work in the government’s favour given that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s ethics breach came to light earlier this month.
