Moncton Fire investigators and Codiac RCMP are trying to find the cause of a grass fire along the Riverfront Trail.
Platoon Chief Paul Bruens says the fire grew larger than a football field on Wednesday afternoon between the causeway and the bridge.
Eight firefighters responded around 1pm and managed to bring the blaze under control in about an hour.
Bruens says an off-road vehicle was used before a tanker could be brought to the scene.
He says no one in the area was hurt.
Bruens adds they may never know what started the fire.
