Two high-profile federal leaders will be among those attending National Acadian Day celebrations later today in Dieppe.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative leader Andrew Scheer will be part of the official ceremonies at Place 1604 starting at 5pm.
Premier Blaine Higgs is also expected to attend.
All three will be marching in the Grand Tintamarre which begins at 5:55pm from Place 1604.
The colourful parade will make its way to the Centenaire Arena on Notre-Dame Street for an evening concert.
This year’s festivities coincide with the 2019 World Acadian Congress which now shifts from Prince Edward Island to Southeast New Brunswick.
Drivers should take note of street closures surrounding the parade route between 5 and 7pm:
-Marche Street between Gauvin and Champlain
-Gauvin Road between Marche and College
-College Street between Gauvin and Champlain
-Champlain between College and Acadie
-Notre-Dame Street between Champlain and Ste-Therese (closure starts at 4pm)
