Another North Atlantic Right Whale has been found entangled in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Fisheries and Oceans officials say a surveillance aircraft spotted the whale on Tuesday about 90 kilometres off the northwest coast of the Magdalen Islands.
Given the remote location, DFO officials are working with other partners to examine options for disentanglement.
Any vessels in the area are being asked to stay away and any sightings should be reported to the Marine Animal Response Society.
During a search for lost fishing gear last month, officials recovered more than 100 snow crab traps and nine kilometres of rope from the water.
This is the fourth North Atlantic Right Whale found entangled in Canadian waters this year.
