Roy Vienneau had a busy role after the election last fall when she granted incumbent premier Brian Gallant permission to remain in power until the Liberal government fell in a confidence vote.
She later accepted Gallant’s resignation which paved the way for Blaine Higgs to a form a Progressive Conservative government.
Official events at Government House are cancelled until further notice.
Funeral details will be announced in the coming days from the provincial Protocol Office.
