Most of us tried to find ways to keep cool in July as the thermometer soared in Greater Moncton.
Environment Canada says the temperature climbed to 30 degrees Celsius or higher on eight days during the month.
Meteorologist Jill Mapea says it was much warmer than normal.
“We saw a mean temperature of 20 degrees exactly and the average mean temperature for the Moncton area in July is 18.8 degrees.”
The highest temperature recorded was 34 degrees on July 5th with a humidex of 41.
Mapea says it was also dry last month as Greater Moncton received less than half of its normal rainfall of 92 millimetres.
In the short-term outlook, Mapea adds temperatures should be cooler but about average for this time of year.
