The deputy Conservative Party leader is on a summer tour and stopped in Moncton on Wednesday to meet with local business leaders for a roundtable discussion.
Lisa Raitt says the number one issue she is hearing from Maritimers is about health care.
“(And) it’s not good enough for a member of parliament to say to their constituent, well you know that’s a provincial responsibility. It is such a crisis and I use the word crisis in a deliberate way.”
She notes in neighbouring Nova Scotia, help to support the health care system is being sought in any way possible.
On a previous visit, Raitt says the small business tax changes had angered New Brunswickers and she received some good advice from residents.
She would like to see the province become more attractive for entrepreneurs in terms of taxation.
During the roundtable, Raitt spoke alongside Sylvie Godin-Charest who is the Conservative candidate for Greater Moncton.
