The CFL commissioner admits he had question marks about preparations for the upcoming Touchdown Atlantic game before he visited Moncton this week.
But Randy Ambrosie now feels very good about the plans including reductions in ticket prices.
While there hasn’t been much promotion surrounding the game yet, Ambrosie says that’s about to change.
“You know we’ve been two days hard at it. They’ll be continued efforts in the days to follow. But whatever didn’t happen before is happening now and a month out I feel like we’re going to be in excellent shape.”
Ambrosie says more CFL could be in Moncton’s future if the Atlantic Schooners join the league noting how discussions are ongoing to host games here since Halifax doesn’t have a stadium yet.
He believes the possible tenth franchise for the league will be a truly regional team similar to the Saskatchewan Roughriders who play in Regina and have a training camp in Saskatoon.
When it comes to ticket sales, Ambrosie doesn’t have exact numbers but says he would only be concerned if the game was a few days away.
He adds we’re still a few weeks away from the matchup between the Toronto Argonauts and the Montreal Alouettes on August 25th at Moncton Stadium.
