The K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst has been chosen as the venue for this year’s Kraft Hockeyville NHL pre-season game.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced in March that Renous was the 2019 Kraft Hockeyville winning community.
However, Renous did not have a venue large enough for the matchup between the Florida Panthers and the Montreal Canadiens.
Bathurst will host the pre-season game on September 18th and a range of activities will be held in the Renous area leading up to the game.
Ticket details have not yet been announced for practices or the game.
Renous will also get $250,000 to upgrade the Tom Donovan Arena and $10,000 worth of equipment from the NHLPA.
