A tent city housing the homeless continues to grow at the end of Albert Street in Moncton.
City hall has been getting complaints from some neighbouring businesses.
City spokesperson Isabelle LeBlanc says steps are being taken to alleviate the situation and more details are coming soon.
LeBlanc says the city recognizes the challenges this site presents to neighbours.
In the meantime, she says local support agencies and the city’s by-law enforcement department have been checking in to monitor the site.
The land is city-owned and LeBlanc says officials are remaining compassionate to those living in very difficult circumstances.
She estimates there are now about 20 tents at the site.
The city has two homeless shelters and a third one is expected to open later this year – on Albert Street.
