Youth will take to the stage on Saturday to inspire others, as a part of Ted X Youth Moncton.
Eight speakers have been chosen, with varying backgrounds and stories to tell.
Chair of the Ted X Moncton Committee Trisha Daley says they all have something to offer, “As an Educator, I often see youth who don’t think they have a lot to offer because they are just one person. Yet I listen to them talk and they have great ideas and thoughts on where they should be and where adults are going wrong.”
Ted X is an organization, dedicated to spreading ideas with speakers who deliver short, powerful talks.
“I want the youth to be able to really push themselves forward and say “Hey, we have something to offer.” We have amazing things that we can do and we have the power to enact the change in all areas of our lives. It’s not just this area or that area, we can change everything and we can help others do the same.”
TedX Youth Moncton runs from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday night at Northrop Frye.
Daley says she hopes those who attend, will leave motivated, “We’re really looking for them to be inspired by their own power. Recognizing that they are the next step in whatever it is, wherever our society, our world is going to go, they are it.”
