The province has ordered an internal audit of NB Liquor after accounting errors were recently discovered.
The Crown corporation says the errors show more than $400,000 was paid in bonuses to employees and board members at the end of the 2017-18 fiscal year.
Finance minister Ernie Steeves says it’s important to be upfront about how NB Liquor’s finances are managed.
Steeves says NB Liquor is expected to operate its business and administer taxpayer dollars in a responsible and prudent way.
The Office of the Comptroller is now conducting the audit.
A report will be made available to the government by late summer.
