A lengthy standoff in North end Moncton ended late last night.
Codiac RCMP cordoned off an area on Evergreen Drive between Shannon Street and Sheffield Drive at around 11:30 yesterday morning.
Constable Isabelle Beaulieu told us a man had reportedly barricaded himself in a home on Sable Court.
Due to a police operation, sections of Shannon Drive, Evergreen Drive and Sheffield Court in Moncton are blocked. As a precaution, the public is asked to avoid the area.

The Canadian Red Cross says sixteen people were evacuated as a precaution. Nine arranged for temporary places to stay, while disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross arranged emergency hotel lodging for seven others, including six adults and one child.
Officers were on scene for around 12 hours.
At around 11:30 last night, RCMP New Brunswick tweeted that the area had reopened to traffic.
There’s no word yet on arrests.
