Hundreds are expected to walk tomorrow morning to help the homeless.
Harvest House is holding its annual Spring 2 Action walk.
Founder Cal Maskery says it raises money for the shelter, but it is informative at the same time, “It is an awareness walk, where we go around to twelve to fifteen charities that are also doing good work in the city. We just highlight them and share how we all work together so people can become more aware of the good work they are doing in the community.”
Last year, around 200 people took part and the walk raised around $30, 000 for the shelter.
Maskery says numbers at Harvest House have jumped since the Out of the Cold shelter closed, “We are seeing up to 55 people staying in the shelter at night, and around 170 people come in for supper.”
The walk gets underway at 9am Saturday, May 4th morning starting at Harvest House.
