An intercity passenger bus was forced to stop alongside the Trans Canada Highway Thursday afternoon due to a fire in its engine compartment.
Around 1:30pm, Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Paul Bruens says firefighters responded to the TCH eastbound between the Salisbury and Berry Mills exits.
Bruens says it was a small fire and it was out by the time they arrived.
He says the passengers safely escaped and another bus was quickly dispatched to pick up them up.
No one was hurt.
The bus was operated by the Atlantic Coach Group.
