Encorp Atlantic has plans to expand its innovative recycling program where consumers drop off their recyclables and later receive refunds in online accounts.
General manager Pierre Landry says a rollout of its Re-Centre and Re-Express program is planned across the province.
“We’re really on the verge of now doing a technology transfer over to all existing depot owners in New Brunswick. That will truly be the test of this technology,” he adds.
By adopting the technology, Landry says it will help the owners of local depots maximize their labour efficiencies.
Encorp Atlantic launched the Re-Centre pilot project about five years ago.
Currently with about 3500 participants, Landry says the program has been well received by today’s busy consumer.
