NB Power is looking to hike its rates by an average of 2.5 per cent.
They have filed an application to the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board.
If approved, residential customers would see their rates climb by 2.9 per cent, while general service and small industrial customers would see rates rise by 1.7 per cent.
The application was initially filed January 8, and it requested a rate increase as of April 1. A hearing has not yet been held in connection with the application.
Any rates approved by the Board would only be in effect subsequent to the Decision.
The public is invited to comment on the application at a meeting to be held on May 9th in Fredericton.
Comments can also be made in writing to the Board by May 3rd.
