As the long holiday weekend begins, the beds are full at the Georges Dumont Hospital.
The Vitalite Health Network is asking patients to avoid visiting the emergency room if possible.
Officials say the Dumont is coping with very high bed occupancy rates.
If visiting the emergency room is necessary, the health network says to expect longer wait times than usual for non-critical situations.
Those who don’t require emergency care are urged to visit a walk-in clinic, call Telecare 811 or make an appointment with their family doctor.
