Hospice Greater Moncton is expected to make an formal announcement later this spring about its long-awaited end-of-life residential facility.
The Humphrey Lewisville Sunny Brae Lions Club has donated land on Pleasant Street with construction set to start this fall.
After many years in the making, Hospice Greater Moncton executive director Tradina Meadows-Forgeron says design plans for the prefabricated structure are really coming together.
“We still have our 10 beds for the clients (along with) four family rooms. We’ve expanded the meeting room so we are able to have our caregiver sessions there, (and) our grief and bereavement sessions there. Currently we go out into the community.”
She adds loved ones will be encouraged to come and visit the clients and help celebrate their lives.
Children will have a playground and even family pets will be welcomed.
