Calling all gamers.
The Riverview Boys and Girls Club has found a popular way to raise funds for their organization.
On March 23rd, they will host a Community Power Up, on location and online.
Program Director Matt McKeigan says this is a first time for them, “We wanted to give the gaming community in Greater Moncton an opportunity to get together and give back, but I think also gamers are a community themselves. They are used to getting together and communicating with each other and being a part of each others lives. This is a great chance for them to come back in their community and give back to the space they live.”
They’ll offer a wide range of gaming with current and retro games as well as the old school way of playing with board games.
“I think this is an opportunity for us to change people’s perspective of what it is to be a gamer. For people to assume that it is an anti-social activity, this is an opportunity to show people that it is a very pro-social and we are making a change in our community,” McKeigan says.
This event for anyone who can’t make it in person will be live streamed.
