An organization which supports those who have intellectual or developmental disabilities finds itself struggling to survive.
Inclusion Advocacy Southeast New Brunswick depends mostly on community fundraisers to keep operating.
Executive director Connie Melanson-Savoy says the organization has reached a crisis point.
“Without funds coming in very quickly, we will not be able to continue to provide the services that we do for the families that we do,” she notes.
Melanson-Savoy says Inclusion Advocacy is always looking for ways to sustain itself on more than just a month to month basis.
Two upcoming fundraisers are planned for early spring – a 5-10K walk-run event on March 23rd and a curling event in April.
Melanson-Savoy adds Inclusion Advocacy’s parent group is the New Brunswick Association for Community Living but the provincial body does not support them financially.
