The premier of New Brunswick is in Saskatchewan this weekend to take part in a pro-pipeline rally.
Blaine Higgs has been a strong supporter of the Energy East pipeline which would have carried Alberta crude oil to Saint John for export.
The project would have also involved a new marine shipping terminal and oil storage facility.
Energy East was cancelled last fall.
Higgs says it’s important to put Canadians to work and protect access to our oil, now and in the future.
The rally is being held in the town of Moosomin, Saskatchewan near the Manitoba border and will focus on energy along with other local resource industries such as potash and agriculture.
Other speakers at the rally will include federal Conservative leader Andrew Scheer and Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe.
