Environment Canada is warning people to hunker down ahead of a strong winter storm heading our way.
A winter storm warning has now been issued for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick. Meteorologist Trina Smith said snow will move in overnight and become heavy during the day Sunday.
Smith said we are looking at around 15 centimetres before it changes to freezing rain and heavy rain around the supper hour.
She said we could see about 30 to 40 millimetres of rain before it switches back to some snow on Monday.
Smith said areas north of Fredericton and Miramichi will see 30 to 40 centimetres of snow, though some could pick up more than 50 centimetres.
Strong winds will also create blowing snow on Sunday afternoon and evening.
