If you have been packing on the pounds over the past year, your goal for 2019, may be to lose them.
Or maybe you just want to see yourself getting healthy and in better shape.
Manager at Good Life Fitness Jordan McQuinn says if you are starting to work out, stick with it, ” I use the example of how long it took you to learn how to put a seatbelt on in your car. It took you awhile but now, once you get into your car, you just put your seatbelt on. That is similar to going to the gym, or establishing healthy eating habits. It takes time, but as you give yourself more time, it become more of a lasting routine.”
McQuinn says don’t rush it. It took time to put on the weight, and it will take time to take it off.
“If you say you’re going to lose 50 pounds in two months, sure you can do it with a radical diet change. As you return to your regular lifestyle, you are just going to put that weight back on, which is called yo-yo dieting. Create a lasting change, and give yourself more change to build a habit around your fitness journey,” McQuinn says.
