Brian Hicks is once again the city councillor for Moncton’s Ward 3 after a swearing-in ceremony today.
Hicks won a byelection earlier this month after Rob McKee vacated the post when he was elected as the new Liberal MLA for Moncton Centre.
Despite some concerns about recent council spending, Hicks says he returns feeling good about the state of the city.
“We’re growing, we’re a vibrant city and I get that feeling from people as well. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have concerns and they wouldn’t want some questions asked and some answers from staff about some things that are concerning them.”
Hicks says one of the first things he plans to do is examine the city’s books given it’s been two and half years since he’s been privy to that information.
Hicks ran and lost in the mayor’s race against Dawn Arnold in 2016.
