About a year ago, Corporate Research Associates asked Maritime adults if they would purchase marijuana after it was legalized.
A recent survey has found roughly the same percentage in the region’s four major cities have done so since October 17th.
Between 7 and 10 percent of residents in Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John and Halifax say they have bought cannabis from a legal vendor.
Up to 20 percent in those cities say they would definitely or probably buy it legally in the near future.
The CRA poll found younger adults aged 18 to 34 were more likely to make purchases.
The highest percentages were found in Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John with the lowest figure in Halifax.
CRA contacted 1500 Maritime adults by phone.
