A five-year-old boy has been hurt after being struck by a vehicle while boarding a school bus in Irishtown.
Southeast RCMP say the collision happened around 8 o’clock Tuesday morning on Communication Road.
A school bus was stopped with its red lights flashing when an SUV approached and swerved to the right to avoid colliding with the back of the bus.
By doing so, the SUV struck the boy.
Police say he’s being treated in hospital for serious but what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The SUV came to rest in the ditch and no one else was hurt.
The investigation is ongoing and Southeast RCMP want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident at 506-387-2222.
