Construction of a new YMCA for Moncton’s north end is expected to start next spring.
Meantime, residents are being invited to learn more about the project in an upcoming open house.
The 35,000 foot community centre and recreational facility will include an interior splash area, playground, gym, fitness centre, indoor track and multi-purpose rooms.
The $17 million project is being funded by all three levels of governments and a capital campaign aims to raise $3 million.
The existing YMCA will continue operating and member access cards will be valid at both locations.
This satellite location will be built on an extension of Twin Oaks Drive.
Officials will be on hand for the open house next Wednesday night (November 21) from 6pm until 8pm at Ecole Le Sommet, 701 Ryan Road.
