Anyone planning to ring in 2025 in downtown Moncton will want to take note of street closures.
They’ll affect Main Street between Cameron Street and Bonaccord Streets and Canada Street from the back of the Avenir Centre to Main Street.
Closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Tuesday until 2 a.m. on Wednesday to accommodate the New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest celebrations downtown.
Codiac Transpo will offer free New Year’s Eve service on select routes as of 5:30 p.m. The schedule for the special Dec. 31 service will be posted on www.codiactranspo.ca
The third annual New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest is presented by the Moncton Wildcats.
It includes live performances by Signal Hill, Les Hay Babies, and Big Bad Party Band.
There will be two fireworks displays, and a beer garden and the Moncton Wildcats will face off against the Charlottetown Islanders at the Avenir Centre.
There will also be activities for the kids including a photo booth, face painting, public skating, marshmallow toasting at the s’mores station, and complimentary maple taffy on a stick.
“We are thrilled to continue our tradition of hosting the New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest as part of our annual series of free community events,” says Larry Nelson, Co-chair of the City of Moncton’s Events Moncton Committee. “This celebration is a wonderful opportunity for friends and families to come together, enjoy a variety of activities, and welcome the start of a new year.”
