Several kilograms of drugs have been seized during a targeted traffic stop on the Confederation Bridge.
RCMP say a vehicle was pulled over on the bridge between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island on Thursday afternoon.
Police seized one kilogram of cocaine, one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, a bag containing more than 500 meth pills and other drugs, 101 cartons of contraband cigarettes and edged weapons.
Police say this seizure represents thousands of doses of illegal drugs.
Three people are facing charges including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Hydromorphone contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Illegal possession of tobacco contrary to the Excise Act
- Possession of more than one thousand grams of tobacco contrary to section 16(2) of the Tobacco Tax Act.
