Tennis players in the Sussex region will have an easier time hitting the court.
A fourth tennis court is being installed at the town’s Princess Louise Park.
It is expected to be ready in late June, according to the Sussex Tennis Association.
President Ted Robertson said the sport has grown substantially since it formed more than a decade ago.
“We’re looking, between our junior program and our adult program, probably close to 150 members,” Robertson
The association president said the long-awaited expansion will also include four new pickleball courts.
Up until now, they have been playing at one of the schools during the winter months over the past eight or nine years, he said.
“It’s gotten really popular now,” Robertson added.
The association has contributed $20,000 toward the expansion while local business Brown’s Paving provided the asphalt.
Robertson said there are plans to add a fifth tennis court at the park, but that will not happen until a future season.
