A familiar name in New Brunswick politics has become the new chief administrative officer for the Town of Shediac.
Victor Boudreau will become CAO in mid-March according to a media release following the departure of current CAO Gilles Belleau.
Boudreau was an MLA for 14 years and a former Liberal cabinet minister in the finance and health portfolios.
He also served as interim leader of the party.
Prior to entering politics in 2004, Boudreau was the town manager for the Village of Cap-Pelé.
“Victor Boudreau is a professional known by our elected officials, our employees and our citizens, and I am certain that he will accompany the municipal council in advancing its priorities,” noted Shediac Mayor Roger Caissie.
“We look forward to embarking on the development of our strategic plan with the support of our CAO.”
The media release stated the new CAO will be instrumental in filling other vacant management positions in the town.
