Construction is well underway on a new $57 million police station on Albert Street in Moncton which will serve the tri-communities.
Don Moore, chair of the Codiac Regional Policing Authority (CRPA), said the project is being managed by the City of Moncton.
“CRPA will become the tenant of the police station and we will basically then hand it over to our regional police force to operate out of there,” he noted.
Moore understands the project is currently running on time and on budget.
“We’re being told that the facility will likely be ready for the first quarter of 2025.”
The existing police station at 520 Main Street has become too small for the current needs of the Codiac Regional RCMP and the building has also undergone extensive repairs to keep it functional.
