The population of New Brunswick was estimated to be 820,786 as of October 1, 2022 (the end of the third quarter).
In recently released data, Statistics Canada said the province had gained almost 25,000 in a one year period which would be a new record.
The province’s growth rate was 1.1 percent which was slightly higher than the national average of 0.9 percent.
Migration numbers were up but New Brunswick was still recording more deaths than births.
Nationwide, population growth for the first nine months of this year had already surpassed any full-year period since Confederation in 1867.
On October 1, StatCan said Canada surpassed 39 million people which was mostly due to international migration.
Using Canada’s population clock from StatCan on December 30, New Brunswick was estimated to have 823,140 people and Canada was estimated to have 39,384,500 people.
