Codiac RCMP plans to become more visible throughout the community in the coming weeks.
Interim superintendent Benoit Jolette told Moncton City Council that Codiac wants to give residents a better sense of what members are doing besides what appears in news releases.
“Normally what comes out on a media release, it’s the search warrant, the charge on a major incident and not a lot of the day-to-day things,” said Jolette.
“Often it’s not what we’re doing but rather what residents don’t know what we’re doing. Whether it be pictures of Codiac members out there on foot, on bike and in police cars across the community.”
Jolette noted Codiac RCMP will be leveraging social media to increase their visibility.
