It’s a tragic end to the search for a missing Moncton woman.
An 83-year-old woman was located by Codiac Regional RCMP on Saturday shortly after 1 p.m.
Gloria Mitton was in medical distress when she was found.
RCMP members administered first aid at the scene before her care was transferred to Ambulance New Brunswick.
She died before she could be transported to hospital.
On Friday, there was an increased police presence including police dog services and helicopter in the area of the Golden Years nursing home off Salisbury Road in Moncton.
Mitton was last seen in the area of Jabez Street on Friday around 6:30 p.m.
She was reported missing to police at around 9:30pm Friday night.
Police and Mitton’s family were concerned for her well-being due to her serious medical conditions.
