The Village of Memramcook has unveiled plans for three major projects aimed at improving local infrastructure and providing better services for residents.
With over $10 million in federal funding already committed for two projects, the municipality is focusing on expanding access to drinking water, building a new recreation center, and planning for a community school center.
Drinking water system expansion
The first project involves extending the village’s water system to bring clean drinking water to over 130 households.
This initiative will add over six kilometres of new pipelines to areas such as La Montain Street, DesBarres Street, and Nigarry Road.
The project has a total estimated cost of $8.2 million, with $4.1 million already committed by the federal government.
The municipality expects the expansion to be completed by the end of this year.

Recreation centre at Memramcook Golf Course
The second project is the construction of a recreation centre at the Memramcook Golf Course.
Designed to host sports, cultural events, and community gatherings, the facility will include modern amenities such as a commercial kitchen, equipment rentals, and dedicated spaces for at-risk youth, seniors, and newcomers.
The project is estimated to cost $13.5 million, with $6 million in federal funding confirmed. Construction is set to begin in 2025, with the center expected to open the following year.
Community school centre
The third project is a planned community school centre, which would link Abbey-Landry School with a broader complex offering shared spaces and services for students and the community.
However, funding for this initiative has not yet been finalized, and the municipality is in discussions with provincial and federal partners to move the project forward.
While federal funding has been secured for the water system and recreation center, the Village of Memramcook is working to close funding gaps and ensure all three projects can be completed.
