Santa Claus is coming to Salisbury.
He’ll roll into town on Main Street on Saturday night.
Mayor Robert Campbell says this is the third local parade held in the community, “One of my dreams when I came on as Mayor of Salisbury, we had never had a Santa Claus parade previously, and we initiated that in my first year in office, along with our Council and businesses. One of our local businesses that brought it on, Scooptopia. We will have 40 plus floats and groups in the parade if not more.”
He says residents and visitors will line the street starting at 6:30 Saturday night.
He says he remembers the very first year, in 2022, coming down to Main Street and seeing three and four people deep lined up along the parade route.
“It was probably one of my proudest moments as mayor, because being a father of two girls, I love hearing back from parents that, their kids were able to see Santa Claus and all the fun and all the all the activities that surround it. Doing it locally was phenomenal.”
It all happens on Saturday night at 6:30, with activities being held throughout the day before the parade.
Groups will collect non-perishable food and turkeys for the Helping Hands Food Bank in Salisbury.

Last month, Salisbury Fire and Rescue initiated a turkey drive with the help of the food bank. The goal initially was to collect 150 turkeys and hams for those in need. They’ve surpassed that and have set a new goal of 300.
“I guess we’re a small town that does big things. It’s not the size of your community, it’s the size of your hearts and hard work. We have the most amazing people living here,” Campbell says.
