Over 200 Atlantic Canadian radio enthusiasts will be at the Riverview Lions Club on Saturday.
The Moncton Area Amateur Radio Club (MAARC) is hosting a swapmeet fleamarket from 8 a.m. to noon.
Secretary Ross McCart finds it a great opportunity to interact with people interested in radio communications as a hobby.
“There’s about a hundred different conversations going on inside the Lions Club on the day we have the flea market,” said McCart.
There’s a 5-dollar entry fee with various radio-related items on display and for sale.
McCart said the many facets of amateur radio, also known as HAM Radio, attract practitioners with a wide range of interests. Many amateurs begin with a fascination with radio communication and then combine other personal interests.
The full interview with Ross McCart can be found below, and he dives into detail about the MAARC, the swapmeet fleamarket, and how people can apply for an HAM Radio licence.
