A new Chief Administrative Officer has officially been named for the City of Moncton.
Serge Doucet has worked in public service for more than 25 years, most recently as regional director general for the Gulf Region with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, where he led a team of 450 employees.
He previously held a number of senior leadership roles, including vice president, business growth with Opportunities New Brunswick, the province’s lead business development organization; president of Future NB with the New Brunswick Business Council; and executive director of Enterprise South East.
He also served as assistant deputy minister with several New Brunswick government departments, including Economic Development, Corporate Services and Special Initiatives, and Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries.
Doucet is also a longtime Moncton resident.
“I am thrilled to be joining an exceptional team of dedicated professionals at the City,” Doucet says. “I look forward to enhancing the City’s successes by fostering a collaborative workplace and developing strong partnerships while continuing to provide excellent service to our residents.”
Doucet will take over the CAO role on December 1st.
The CAO oversees and manages all administrative and operational aspects of the City.
Doucet will report to the Mayor and Moncton City Council and is the only position directly hired by the Mayor and Council.
It was announced earlier this year that Marc Landry had left the position.
