The Causeway Bridge was closed for several hours Thursday morning due to an Emergency Operation.
It involved Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe fire departments, as well as Codiac RCMP and Ambulance New Brunswick.
Riverview Fire and Rescue Chief Robin True says two people had to be rescued from an area underneath the bridge.
The Bridge closed at around 7:30 am, and all traffic coming to and from the two communities was detoured to the Gunningsville Bridge..
This caused long traffic tie-ups for rush-hour commuters.
There’s no word on the condition of the two individuals.
