Just over half of Canadians plan to take a staycation this summer according to a new poll about travel from Narrative Research.
Residents of Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador and British Columbia are the most likely to explore their own provinces.
About one-third said they would visit another province which is down from previous surveys with inflationary pressure such as higher prices for gas, food and hotels likely to be factors.
Another one-third said they would visit the United States which is a slight jump from a previous poll despite an exchange rate which has been unfavourable for Canadians for some time.
More than 1,200 Canadian adults were surveyed online from June 6 to 8.
