For New Brunswickers who may need surgery, the province now has a new online tool which outlines wait times by surgeon and procedure.
New Brunswick Health Council CEO Stephane Robichaud believes this will be a helpful guide for patients.
“This is an important resource for citizens who may be anticipating a conversation with their primary care provider,” he notes.
“They now have access to wait times by specialists which they can consider in that decision when it comes to picking one.”

Data from the website shows some of the longest waits for surgeries tend to be in the larger centres such as Moncton.
As an example, nine out of ten knee replacement surgeries provincewide at all facilities were completed within 599 days or about 20 months.
The national benchmark is 182 days or about six months.
